For over 170 years, SCFS have provided a lifeline to men and women from all nations who work at sea. Through their chaplains they offer compassion, friendship and support for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of seafaring people.
This project involved a total rebrand, centring around a desire to represent the compassion and on-the-ground care conducted by the organisation where the previous branding had fallen short.
The new SCFS brand icon brings together a wave and a gentle, cupped hand, paying homage to the sector whilst revealing the compassionate ethos of the organisation. The colour scheme was a gentle evolution and modernisation of the pre-existing brand that felt appropriate to the seafaring community. This rebranding exercise was also an opportunity to develop the organisation’s language on a more strategic level, leading to more effective fundraising and raising awareness about an essential yet often forgotten group of people within our global economy.
